2024 Pomalo Plavina
Grape
100% Plavina
Region
Dalmatia, Croatia
Producer Facts
Their Pomalo means “take it easy” in Dalmatian coastal culture—a relaxed, no-stress way of life the project aims to put into wine.
The wines were created with the Begović cousins, two winemakers who discovered they were long-lost relatives through family ties in Kozice, Croatia.
One cousin is based in the northeastern mountains of Slovenia; the other works on the Dalmatian coast, so the project brings together two very different wine backgrounds.
Their goal is to highlight lesser-known Croatian grapes and regions through natural, low-intervention wines for the U.S. market.Soil
